The Challenge: rebuilding a GenAI solution that couldn’t scale

FlipIQ’s previous AI architecture was unable to handle increasing traffic or deliver consistent performance. Its codebase lacked the scalability and flexibility needed to support growing user demand.

The company’s main goal was clear: rebuild the entire solution to make it scalable, reliable, and ready for production—without losing the intelligent matching capabilities that made its platform unique.

From legacy code to an end-to-end AWS ecosystem

DinoCloud proposed a comprehensive refactor of FlipIQ’s existing solution, turning fragmented code and infrastructure into a robust, end-to-end GenAI environment on AWS.

The project focused on three key pillars:

Code optimization: Improving the inherited backend and frontend code to ensure high performance and maintainability.
Infrastructure modernization: Building a secure, scalable foundation using AWS-native services and Infrastructure as Code.
AI enhancement: Re-engineering the AI integration layer using Amazon Bedrock to optimize model performance and flexibility.

The technology backbone: AWS and modern development tools

The new FlipIQ platform was built with a solid combination of AWS services and modern development technologies:

Amazon S3 – storage for documents processed by the AI.
Amazon DynamoDB – management of unstructured data extracted from property information.
Amazon RDS (PostgreSQL) – storage of business rules used to enrich AI responses.
AWS Lambda – orchestration of the entire GenAI process.
Amazon ECS – backend container management interacting with the frontend.
AWS Amplify – deployment of the Next.js-based frontend.
Amazon VPC & Security Groups – secure and private network configuration.
Amazon EC2 – bastion host for RDS access management.
AWS Organizations – account structure and environment segregation.
Application Load Balancer (ALB) – scalable backend exposure.
Amazon Bedrock – foundation for GenAI model integration.
AWS Secrets Manager – secure and automated credential rotation.

Supporting tools included Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, ClickUp for agile task management, Python for Lambda functions, and Node.js with TypeScript for backend-for-frontend (BFF) and frontend components.
